At the Welland City Council meeting on December 15, 2020 a report was presented from the manager recreation and culture (Report R&C-2020-09) detailing the closure of the Welland Community Wellness Complex from December 20, 2020 to January 10, 2021 inclusive.  According to the report, during the closure the majority of full time staff will be using vacation time during the closure period, and as a result there will be no layoffs of full time staff.  It was stated during the council meeting that one staff member chose to take “unpaid vacation time”.
