CUPE 1115 and the City of Welland have completed a third day of negotiations with a provincially appointed conciliator.  Negotiations will resume on Wednesday, March 24.

CUPE 1115 has implemented a members’ discount program using the “Endless Savings and More” app.  This program will provide members with exclusive discounts to many online and national retail chains and services, as well as discounts on cell phones and cell phone plans through Telus and Rogers.

Attention CUPE Local 1115 members.  Be advised the negotiating committee has called a special meeting of the membership to be held Wednesday February 17.

Agenda to include:

• Negotiations update
• Strike Committee – member commitment
• Strike Vote

The  negotiation committee will provide an update that everyone will want to listen to and provide feedback. This will be one of the most important meetings and members should plan to attend.

CUPE 1115 special meeting Wed Feb 17

After 21 days of negotiation between the municipal workers of Belleville, Ontario represented by CUPE Local 907 and the City of Belleville, the Local now says the City has reversed its position on all the items they have agreed upon.  The union has filed for a no-board report with the Ministry of Labour starting the countdown for a legal strike or lockout as early as February 22.   Support the municipal workers of Belleville represented by CUPE Local 907 by sending a message to the mayor and council encouraging them to negotiate a fair contract:

Thank you to all who donated toys for the Welland Optimist Club/CUPE Local 1115 Drive-Thru Christmas Toy Drive!  It was a big success this year with lots of toys collected that will help make a child’s Christmas a little bit brighter.  Thank you also to the Welland Optimist Club who hosted the event and to our members who were present to collect toys and direct traffic.
